How is Botox Priced?
When an individual is looking for a medical practice to provide their Botox treatments, many factors go into making that decision. Experience, location, word of mouth, and many other factors go into each individual's decision-making process. However, one of the most significant factors is the cost each practice charges for Botox. While everyone wants a good deal on anything they buy, deciding to go with the cheapest Botox provider in your area may not result in the outcome you desire.

That is why we are happy to provide our patients with Monthly Memberships to save on their Botox and Dysport treatments at Rachel Davis Aesthetics. Learn more about our Monthly Membership below.
What is Botox?
Botox is the most popular aesthetic treatment on the planet. PERIOD! It has been used for over 21 years to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the upper facial region with amazing success. From a scientific perspective, Botox is a purified protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The purified protein targets very precise areas of the face or facial muscles, more specifically, to create a more relaxed, youthful appearance.

Botox Pricing Methods
For savvy consumers who want more context on what they are buying, we will dive into how you may see Botox priced in different medical aesthetic practices. Essentially there are 2 primary ways of pricing Botox that you will encounter in the market: 1) Unit Pricing and 2) Area Pricing.
Unit Pricing
First is pricing Botox by the unit. This pricing method is the most popular way to see Botox priced at many medical aesthetic practices in your area. The reason is simple: Botox is bought and injected by the unit. So, it makes sense to price it that way. If you have deep wrinkles and more robust facial muscles, you will need more units, impacting the price. For example, if a practice charges $14/unit and you need 20 units for your frown lines, the total cost will be $280. However, if you need 25 units to get the desired result, the price will increase to $350 to account for the extra 5 units (25 units x $15 = $375).
Unit Pricing
The second most popular method in the market is Area-Based Pricing. There are 3 main "areas" of the upper face that Botox is used to correct. They are as follows: 1) The Forehead, 2) The Frown Line (between the eyebrows), and The Crow's Feet (around the eyes). Practices will set standard prices for each "area." If you wanted your frown lines treated, an aesthetic medical practice "charging by the area" would have a standard price, regardless of how many units are needed—for example, $300 for each area.
Rachel Davis Aesthetics Pricing Model
At Rachel Davis Aesthetics, we believe Unit Pricing is the most straightforward and transparent way of pricing Botox. Area pricing has inherent flaws because every individual needs a precise amount of Botox for their desired results. Area Pricing means some individuals will receive a great deal on their Botox treatment while others will not. For instance, let's assume a practice charges $300 for an area. If Patient A only needs 20 units to get the desired result in the frown lines, that breaks down to $15/unit ($300/20 units). Wow! On the other hand, if Patient B needs the same area treated and requires 30 units to get the desired results, that breaks down to $10/unit ($300/30 units). This pricing method is inequitable and lacks transparency, so we do not charge per area.

“I have always been hesitant to try Botox, but after following Rachel Davis Aesthetics on Instagram for a while, I finally took the plunge. Rachel listened to my wishes (wanting to still be able to express emotion, wanting to keep a more 'natural' look, etc.) and the results just 1 week in have been awesome. I look more alert, makeup goes on smoother and generally just feel like my face is brighter. Rachel also helped come up with a game plan leading up to my wedding in August. 10/10 recommend!”
